How can we represent the world as it is today ? How can we give an image of it which eludes the grasp of mass indimensionsion ? The seven artists featured in this book addressed this question in an exhibition at Le Quartier in 2003. They further present their thinking on these questions in their writings and in critical commentaries on the current development of their work and in the images included in a separate section in the book, which was designed to stand alone rather than as an illustrated accompaniment to the text.
